Add a My Submitted Photos option to iPhone app
After submitting a photo on the iPhone app, there's no way to check on it to see what people are saying. The iPhone app is not very useful if you can't check the results of your submissions in it.

Old Friends Section
How about a Peoples Section, where we submit photos of people from our past - those we can't recall their names, or can't locate them??? Could call it "Who or Where are they now?"

add custom RSS of new images based filtered by subcategory/special tag
That way, a community can use idthis for specific crowd support. Example: a webpage on edible mushrooms could let users submit images of mushrooms they've picked and want ID on to know if they're edible. The webpage crowd subscribe to a custom RSS for all and only new idthis images with the tag "ediblemushroomsite.com" and post answers.

extra flagging tools.
allow the flagging for useless, trolling, "i know what is is, but can you guess it" and /b/ related material. ie melon cat, bazooka ground hog, 100x100 pictures.

iphone password fails to login with certain characters
Seems the iphone app doesn't construct a well-formed URL when logging in if the password contains characters like > and ] producing and error "Connection failed. Error - bad URL".

Crawl the web for Creative Commons images and ask users to ID them to add to your collection of IDed
Once you have enough viewers, crawl the Web for Creative Commons images that can be used in commercial enterprises and have users ID them while suggesting from the context iof the images what they might be. This way you add to your collection of IDed pictures. You can then have user's uploaded pictured compared in similarity to the collection.

Filter out the idiots
I come to this site to try to be helpful and every time i waste my time wading through page after page of the most mindless comments i have ever seen. they are not the least bit funny. my patience is wearing out and i may not be back.

I understand your frustration, but there is not much we can do unless they post something against our TOS.
Try to zone them out and concentrate on the people that genuinely try to help.
Maybe we can add some blocking so that you can block those users in some way.

Use an image matching system to augment ID.
You could start with a base of already IDed items and add to the collection as user submit photos. Newly submitted photos would then be compared visually say by using the Open Source software imgseeknet to make similarity matches. For instance if you already have a picture of the Matterhorn and someone uploads a picture of the mountain, you could display you Matterhorn picture and suggest that's what the user is uploading.
